The gap between goal and process
The goal curve shows what remains valid. The process curve shows what this process can still reach. The gap between them is where the route is already lost.

The point: the gap between the goal curve and the process curve is where hidden process failure lives. A process can keep moving after its viable future has already collapsed. A stronger process shrinks the gap. A perfect process eliminates it — but perfection is rarely available.
